"Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.” Exodus 33:14
Almost everyone can recount one of the greatest requests made by a man to God; when Moses stood before the Lord and asked Him: "show me Your glory" (Exodus 33:18). What many fail to see or appreciate is what Moses asked the Lord just before his now famous request. Before he asked the Lord to show him His glory, he first asked God to show him His ways. " show me now Your way, that I may know You"
What we need to realize is that prior to this request, Moses had already experienced the power and glory of God like no other human had and probably will. He had seen God rain down ten plagues to destroy Egypt; he had seen the Red Sea part so that Israel could pass through on dry ground, while swallowing up the pursuing Egyptian army; and he had spent forty days and nights in the very glorious presence of God receiving the ten commandments written on tablets of stone with the fiery finger of God.
Hence when Moses had the opportunity to ask God to show him His glory, he was not requesting another show of demonstrative power from God. That is why his prior request in this verse 13 is the key to unlocking what Moses was really seeking from the Lord. He was after God's ways. He was after His righteousness. In essence, he wanted to know God; and in knowing Him he would then become like him in thought and in deeds.
When you and I sincerely seek after God to know His ways, we are drawn automatically into His magnificent presence where He fills us with His thoughts and His ways, thus enabling us to walk in His righteousness and also do His works. GLORY!
It is urgent that we return to covenant relationship with God and with one another in the Body of Christ. This is essential to provide security and protection from the spirit of this age that is destroying our children and youth, our marriages, families, congregations and communities. Why not Topeka! Why not NOW!
"What an unspeakable privilege united prayer is and what a power it can be...God rules the world by the prayers of His saints...prayer is the power by which Satan is conquered...by prayer the church on earth has at its disposal the powers of the heavenly world."
